From who'll make the guest list to who'll design Meghan Markle's wedding dress, there are tons of rumors floating around the details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding. But one particularly delicious detail concerns the couple's big-day dessert. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are rumored to be serving a banana-flavored wedding cake at their May 19 nuptials-a nontraditional choice for British royal weddings. But during an impromptu wedding cake tasting in Wales, the couple tried a slice of something even more unique.
On January 18, Meghan and Harry embarked on an official visit to Wales, where the pair spoke with the locals, met a group of young students, and observed cultural performances, according to PEOPLE. They also got the chance to sample some local cuisine while touring Cardiff Castle; specifically, a wedding cake!
Being made entirely out of cheese-a literal cheesecake!-this confection was ultra-unique. The special Welsh wedding cake was crafted out of different layers of cheese, including an extra-mature cheddar, a smoked cheddar, and a cheddar with garlic and herbs, all provided by the Snowdonia Cheese Company, based in Rhyl, North Wales. The cheesy treat was even topped with a sign that read "Congratulations" in Welsh.
“We made it for them," Simon Mercer, a director of the Snowdonia Cheese Company, told PEOPLE. "It's to celebrate their wedding and to offer our congratulations to them.”
“We do get asked to make wedding cakes occasionally,” he added. Hmm… We wonder what the Queen would say about such a unique confection being served at the royal wedding reception.

So what did the couple think? "Oh my good. How sweet is that?” Meghan reportedly said when she spotted the treat. After trying a bite of one of the cheeses, she noted that it was "really delicious."
Looks like Harry and Meghan's first wedding cake tasting went simply splendidly-as unofficial as it was.
