It's only been a month since Meghan Markle gave birth to the royal baby, but already, royal duty calls! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly gearing up to head overseas on their next big tour later this year.
Britain's ITV reports that the couple, who toured Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the Kingdom of Tonga in October, will soon be headed to Malawi, Africa, in order to expand Harry's charity of Sentebale, which supports the mental health and wellbeing of young children living with HIV in Lesotho, Botswana, and Malawi.
In addition to their work in Malawi, the twosome also reportedly plan to tour South Africa and Angola. According to Australia's News.com, the couple likely won't be alone: Baby Archie is expected to travel with his parents for at least part of the trip.
It makes sense that the trio's first family voyage would be to the continent of Africa, which holds a special place in the hearts of Meghan and Harry-the duo traveled to Botswana on their third date in 2016, where they initially got to know each other.
“We camped out with each other under the stars,” Harry, 34, said of their time in the African country in his first post-engagement interview with Meghan. “She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic. So, then we were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure that we had a chance to get to know each other.”
The royal also swept the former actress, 37, off to Zambia's Victoria Falls for her birthday in August 2017, just months ahead of popping the question with an engagement ring that featured a conflict-free center stone from Botswana.
Reports surfaced in April that the former actress and the army vet could even make the move to Africa at some point to cement their charity work overseas, though nothing would be decided until next year.
“Courtiers have drawn up plans to hand the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a major international job that could see them moving abroad after the birth of their child,” a source told The Sunday Times. "Discussions are at an early stage, but the plan is to find a new way of using their soft power abilities, most likely in Africa."
We can't wait to see the photos from their upcoming voyage!
