Apparently, Allen Leech was in the holiday spirit yesterday, as he revealed his engagement to actress Jessica Herman on Valentine's Day. The Downton Abbey star took to Instagram to wish who we thought was just his girlfriend a happy V-Day, but he oh-so-casually slipped the big f-word-that's fiancГ©!-into the caption to let us in on his little secret.
“Happy Valentine's Day @jessicablairherman First one as a fiancé! Thank you for saying yes and for making me the happiest," Leech wrote on the 'Gram, captioning the photo of himself and his new fiancé. (Peep that sparkling diamond ring on her finger!) But just in case any fans thought he popped the question on Valentine's Day, Leech clarified, "And no I didn't do it today. It's been a while."
Leech is best known for his role as Tom Branson in the wildly popular historical drama Downton Abbey, and his bride-to-be has starred in several American TV series. The actress also posted about her fiancГ© on love day recalling the day he proposed.
“The day you proposed was one of the best days but every day with you is my favorite,” she wrote. “I love you! Happy Valentine's Day @therealleech! ❤️ ”
This couple's love story began back in 2016, according to The Daily Mail, after Leech and his TV host girlfriend Charlie Webster called it quits in late 2015.
According to the tabloid, Webster said their break-up was based on their career-focused mindset and that it was "the wrong time" for either of them to commit to a long-term relationship-but clearly, the timing worked out perfectly for Leech and and Herman.

Since he didn't actually pop the question yesterday, hopefully some more proposal and wedding details start to trickle in. Will it be an ultra-modern affair, or have a more traditional feel, Г la Downton Abbey? Only time will tell, but here's hoping we find out soon!
