CNN's Ana Navarro is married! The Telemundo commentator and frequent cohost on The View tied the knot in a bright waterfront wedding in Miami over the weekend.
On Saturday, March 2, Navarro said her "I do's" with now-husband Al Cardenas, a lawyer, lobbyist, and former chairman of Florida's Republican party. Navarro shared a handful of shots from her big day to Instagram, including a shot of her and her groom at the altar, a few photos with friends and a picture of her over-the-top wedding cake.
Though the couple just made it official a few days ago, the two have known each other for decades. Navarro and Cardenas reportedly met over 25 years ago, but only officially became husband and wife this week.
“It wasn't the right time back then, so we became very good friends through the years and through the decades,” Navarro told People en Español. “Finally, things fell into place, things worked out and we're able to be here today.”
The couple was joined by dozens of A-list friends for their big day. CNN's Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon were in attendance along with Eva Longoria and husband JosГ© BastГіn, Gloria Estefan, senators Mitt Romney and Bob Menendez, and anchors from The View.
“I think they made an amazing team. The wedding couldn't have been more beautiful,” Estefan told People en Español. “One of those special Miami afternoons that you know, the sun, the weather, could not have been better.”
For the big celebration, Navarro wore a dress by Luis Escudero for the Rene Ruiz Collection. Her husband told the outlet that although she was incredibly calm throughout the day, it was likely because she planned everything out perfectly. “She had a dream of how she wants her wedding and she's fulfilling it,” he said.
Cardenas added that the entire experience was a long time coming.
"We've loved each other for a long time and we've worked hard at getting here and it's just a marvelous, wonderful fulling day for me,” he said. “It's hard to express but I found my partner, my best friend, and I just can't wait for this journey to get going.”
