Gold isn't the only precious metal Venus Williams rocks. The multi-medal-winning tennis superstar is apparently also a fan of sparkling silver, considering that she was just sporting some-a silver diamond ring, to be exact-during a recent outing. And with the bauble taking up residence on her left ring finger (yes, that finger… ), Williams's silver sparkler is sparking rumors that she's engaged to boyfriend Nicholas Hammond.
Although the couple just went public with their relationship earlier this month at the Australian Open, rumors that Venus Williams is engaged to her beau, an affluent financier, went flying when Williams was spotted at the airport wearing a blingy bauble on her left ring finger. The silver (or platinum) diamond ring has some serious sparkle, and certainly does look like it could be an engagement ring, if you ask us. And, if the bauble's mere existence wasn't suspicious enough, Williams appeared to be hiding her ring finger with a straw hat as she made her way through the airport, according to The Daily Mail, making it seem like she didn't want her bling to be spotted.
However, despite the suspicious sparkler, a representative for Williams has told The Daily Mail that the pair isn't engaged. Take that for what you will: Maybe the couple wants to celebrate their engagement in private for now, or the star's spokesperson is telling the honest-to-goodness truth. No one says you can't buy your own bling (especially when you're one of the top-performing female athletes in the world).

However, one thing's for sure: When Williams does decide to tie the knot, we have no doubt that it'll be an epic event. After all, the athlete does the perfect big-day blueprint. When her sister, Serena Williams, married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in November, it proved to be the wedding of year with A-list celebrity guests, three gorgeous wedding gowns, and several show-stopping surprises.
Think this Williams sister will try to top last year's event? We know these famous siblings certainly aren't afraid of a little healthy competition.
