Meghan Markle Will Have Not One, But Two Wedding Dresses

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement last November, the main thing on everyone's minds seems to be what wedding dress the future royal bride will be decked in. Well, while we unfortunately still don't have an answer, it seems like we've been asking the wrong question all along. Instead, we should've been predicting what dress*(es)* Markle will wear on her big day! Yes, that's right. As one would expect for a wedding of royal proportions, the former actress reportedly has two gowns lined up for May 19. Considering this means we get the pleasure of seeing Markle's style put into action twice, we say the more, the merrier!

A source reported to Vanity Fair that Markle is envisioning a more classic style for the afternoon ceremony and reception, after which she'll slip into something a little more comfortable for the later second reception hosted by Prince Charles.

"She will have two dresses, one for the ceremony and another dress for the evening," the source said. "The plan is for her to change after the ceremony so that she can party the night away in something glamorous and less restrictive. Meghan can't wait to surprise everyone, especially Harry. The wedding dress itself will be traditional and elegant. There is talk of some lace and sleeves and Meghan has been working very closely with the designer who has been sworn to secrecy."

Markle will be following in the footsteps of her future sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, who swapped her iconic Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown for a simple satin gown by the same designer on the night of her wedding. Plus, who really wants to tear up the dance floor (hopefully with Queen Elizabeth) in a constricting dress that you've been wearing for hours!?

This also presents twice the opportunity for Markle to make further waves in the fashion industry. The "Markle effect" is already evidenced through the new wedding dresses we've seen at Spring 2019 Bridal Fashion Week, with styles reflecting princess-perfect, fashion-forward looks worthy of the bride-to-be herself.

It's unclear whether the same lucky label will design both of Markle's wedding-day looks but, either way, we have no doubt each gown will make all of our modern princess dreams come true. Naturally, plenty of rumors have circulated regarding the original designer of choice, from Alexander McQueen to Roland Mouret (a close friend of Markle's) to Ralph & Russo, the British design duo behind Markle's engagement dress. However, none have emerged as frontrunner quite yet, and chances are, with all this royal secrecy hoopla, we probably won't get a peek until Harry and Markle's actual wedding.

As if we couldn't already wait to see this fashion maven, future royal bride walk down the aisle, consider our excitement doubled.
