After previously losing her engagement ring in a nightclub (don't worry-she found it in an ice bucket), Paris Hilton is reportedly now holding on tight to her $2 million bling-even though she and fiancГ© Chris Zylka have officially called off their engagement.
News broke Monday that the couple called it quits a few weeks ago. An insider told People, “The relationship moved very fast, and she realized it wasn't right for her.”
Throughout the 10-month engagement, signs that the couple wasn't exactly headed down the aisle arose. Earlier this year for instance, Hilton and Zylka decided to postpone their nuptials, with a source divulging to E! News, "Paris had her heart set on an 11/11 wedding. That was her dream date. But there's just too much to do and between her work and travel schedule, not enough time to do it." Sadly, that postponement has now turned into full-blown cancelled nuptials.
With the engagement now off, we have to wonder what's to become of Paris's epic $2 million engagement ring. According to TMZ, Hilton is the one who called off the engagement, and under California law is required to return the 20-carat pear-shaped sparkler. However, the ring is still reportedly in Paris's possession. According to TMZ, Zylka has yet to request that she return the ring, but he apparently (and understandably) wants the multimillion-dollar bauble back. Awkward.

In the meanwhile, Hilton is sending positive vibes over Instagram. She hasn't technically confirmed the split, but shared her favorite Marilyn Monroe quote suggesting brighter days are ahead. "I believe that everything happens for a reason," the caption reads. "People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”
