We're constantly on the hunt for nifty little hero products that add that extra touch of, “What did you do differently?!”-especially when it comes to our wedding day. So when we started seeing these hilariously gargantuan, somewhat extra, all-natural collagen infused lip masks pop up all over our feed (Emma Stone, Kim K, Hannah Bronfman, and Bella Hadid are ALL fans), we had to learn more about the genius behind them. Turns out that LA-based Kristen Noel Crawley, founder and CEO of KNC Beauty and mother of two, is a total beauty superstar-not just a lip magician.
Although her own wedding was three years ago, she talks us through her detailed regimen, with gorg photos to boot.

What was the overall vibe of your wedding?
We were married in a glass chapel in Oahu, so I was going for a beachy vibe. My dress was off the rack from Ikram in Chicago-Givenchy couture, gorgeous white lace with star embellishments throughout. I wore black lace-up Alaia pumps and minimal jewelry. After the ceremony, I slipped into a short, white Alaia dress for dinner. Our wedding was very small and intimate-I wanted to feel comfortable with my normal look, just amplified a bit.
What was your skin regimen leading up to the day of your wedding?
I used my regular products the entire time leading up to the day of-I didn't want to risk a reaction by trying anything new! At the time, I was doing a double cleansing, double moisturizing regimen from Kanebo. I did have a facial about three days before (along with a sweat session in the sauna!). For brides getting ready now, I'd recommend a radiance mask like Sisley's Black Rose Cream Mask. Your skin will glow like crazy! I'd also recommend my lip mask, of course, and a brightening eye mask.
Your hair looked gorgeous-what was used for those soft, loose beach waves?
I dyed my hair to a natural black the week before so that the color would be fresh and soft, but not "too new". Karla, my photographer, also did my hair and makeup! She used a big barrel curling iron and a texturing spray after to keep my locks in place. I wore a Vera Wang veil during the ceremony-I thought to myself, when will I ever be able to wear a floor-length veil again?!Karla Ticas
Can you walk us through your recos for wedding day makeup?
Base: I've always been pretty low-fuss when it comes to makeup. For brides who want a pretty natural look, I'd start with Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer-it smells amazing and will literally hold your foundation in place all day. For your base, try Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation-it has a crazy-natural finish that covers imperfections really well, but you can still see freckles through it!
Face: Dab on some La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in Berry Glow for a healthy pop, and lightly contour the jawline, cheeks, nose and forehead. Add highlighter on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and under the brow bone.
Eyes: I did a subtle cat liner (try: the Dior Diorshow Art Pen in Kohl) to make my eyes pop. I don't normally use eye shadow, but it was necessary for the sake of the photos-we used a slightly shimmery brown on the lids. I love Dior products for the eyes-their new Diorshow Pump'N'Volume Mascara gives me monster lashes!
Brows: I use the Dior Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil in 001 for brows-mine are naturally thick, but I love to lightly fill them in.
Lips: I originally wanted a red lip. I tried it, but didn't feel completely comfortable, so I went with a matte nude instead.
Setting: I'd finish off the look by dusting Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder all over the face. It really sets the makeup for a full day.Karla Ticas
What did you decide to do for your nails?
I got a gel manicure in my signature red color-I didn't want to worry about chips.
I wore my favorite Frederic Malle fragrance, "En Passant".

Now, onto your hero product, the lip masks. Why lip masks? Were you noticing a gap in the market for such a product?
I first noticed lip masks on a trip to Japan almost three years ago. I always had chronic dry lips so I was super excited to try them. The mask worked well, but I noticed it was full of chemicals. When I got back to the states I searched for a natural alternative, and it just didn't exist. That's when the lightbulb went off…
Why are they great for a bride's wedding day?
They are THE perfect primer for your lips (a focal point on the big day!)-they hydrate, plump and make those little lines disappear. They're also super fun to use! I've had so many brides buy them to put in their bachelorette gift bags for the ultimate pre-wedding beauty night. I would start using them a few weeks before the wedding, about 3-4 times a week.
Why do you think your lip masks have gained such a cult following?
It's a combination of the mask's efficacy, all-natural ingredients, and being incredibly "selfie-friendly"! We've become the most recognizable lip mask in the biz and it's really taken the beauty world by storm.
What's coming down the pipeline from KNC beauty?
I'm working on a new mask now. I'm playing around with ingredients and shapes-just trying to do something different. It will be out in the next few months and I'm so excited!
